Aximet 500 SR tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes). It contains metformin as its active ingredient. Aximet 500 SR helps to lower the raised blood sugar levels. It works by decreasing the production of glucose. It also reduces its absorption in the body. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as recommended by your doctor. It should preferably be taken after meals. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own.
